January was a bizarre month for me. It has taken me a while to get back into the swing of things after such a busy few months before Christmas. January was a month of preparing proposals, business meetings and getting a few projects done. I wrapped up the last projects for some clients that I have been working with and am beginning new ones.
On the blog side, I wrote a post on the beautiful Homes by the Beach in Naples, Sanibel and Captiva Islands that we saw while vacationing down in sunny Ft. Myers Florida. The vibrant colours and the gorgeous porches all surrounded by palm trees and water make me want to pack up everything and head down to the beach right now! I gave a tutorial on how to choose a theme and hang Vacation Photos as Art. I showed how I displayed some of the beautiful photos that I took while in Italy. Lastly, my husband gave a lesson on how to make Homemade Butter. He loves cooking and he has now been asked to show how to make homemade cheese. That post will be coming up soon. We can’t tell you how many emails and calls we received from people that have now made homemade butter. Some have even posted or sent us their photos and they look great! Creating inspiration is what make me so happy and is one of the many reasons for why I blog. I can’t wait to see what inspiration will take place in February!
We are all back from an incredible 3 weeks away in sunny Fort Myers Florida. We all needed that time to unwind and relax especially coming from such a busy Christmas season. December was a great month! I loved making this Sweet and Salty chocolate caramel bark with saltine crackers for guests and hostess gifts. I made these Sweet and Easy Baby Gifts from onsies and an iron on vintage camera image. The Painted Cake Display made from a dollar store plastic tray looked great on our dessert side server and was only 1 dollar to create! The Reindeer Wall was such an incredible hit at the Holiday Home Tour and was featured on one of my favourite blogs ever, Centsational Girl for Kate’s 30 Inspiring Christmas Crafts. I was also featured on the blogs Primitive and Proper, Be Different Act Normal and was one of the crafts Crush of the Month at Delightfully Noted. I was also featured on Lolly Lane’s Top 25 Crafty Christmas Trees, Positively Splendid’s 10 Must Try Christmas Projects, and Skip To My Lou’s Christmas DIY Ideas. How lucky am I!
I also wrapped up a brochure, a huge sign and a website design for Senior’s retirement living called Canatara Court. My last project for December was a logo design for A Million Reasons to Give campaign for the Salvation Army. I hope you all had a great Christmas. Here’s to a fantastic New Year.
I am on our annual Christmas Holiday here in sunny Fort Myers Florida with my family. I logged on today to reply to my comments and was so excited and thrilled to see that I was featured on one of my favourite blogs ever, Centsational Girl. The Reindeer Wall that I created for the Holiday Home Tour was featured under Kate’s 30 Inspiring Christmas Crafts. Check out all of the other creative Christmas crafts on Centsational Girl’s lineup.
I can’t believe how fast November went by! It was one crazy busy month. I spent most of November preparing, shopping and designing for the Holiday Home Tour that I was so honored to be a part of. I still cannot believe the amazing people I met and the wonderful compliments I was given! I was also flattered to be asked to do a TV interview with the students at Loyalist College. I also designed a brand new magazine called Infinity Magazine and had a fun day art directing a photoshoot for Community Care for Seniors with one of my favourite clients and my photographer. I also designed all of their marketing material including 2 brochures, an invitation, 2 large banner displays and a 100 page directory. I also designed a logo for a Salvation Army campaign and lastly created all these fun and creative projects. All in one month….phew! Continue reading
